Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

Been carrying a Buck Stockman for most of my life for everyday use. Still own my first one from the '70's although it's pretty beat up. I now use a another Buck which I've had since '96 or so. Very versatile & rugged. Takes a lot of abuse as it's a "working" knife.                 - Kent

Thanks Kent, I love a working knife, something you can actually use, sharpen and use again.

I am trying to remember that 70's model, but beleive its not all that different from what they make today.

Unfortunately the early Buck Stockmans of the late 60's & 70's were a completely different knife. The blades were thinner & the clip blade was a flat desisign with a long nail groove. The blades were all a dull finished SS compared with the brighter chrome like SS used in today's USA made models. They were just as strong despite their thinner design.
I'm missing the escution plate on my old Stockman which was narrower & longer than today's plates. If anyone knows where I could purchase a replacement, I would be very appreciative. The factory was of no help.

Buck's stockman is a tank, I love the rugged look and feel, they're a knife I trust when in use. I'm hoping to EDC one for a long time to come, and I'm thinking this squirrel season will help solidify  a relationship with these knives.

God fit and finish on those Bucks Johnny! I do like the way they look. Keep talking guys I migght have to buy one eventually. When Sunil started this group, of all things he could have used, he used a Buck stockman as our picture. When he gets back from his trip we have to ask him about that.

Hog, I used the Buck 301 Stockman photo for the group image because that IS my EDC knife. It's in my pocket right now. I carry a 2004 model (upside-down T) because it was the last year they were made at the El Cajon, CA factory. (which I went to 3 or 4 times, and took the factory tour each time).
