I have this real small Ka-Bar that I found in my brother's things after he passed away in the 70s. I've never seen another like it and I can't find a pic of it on the internet. The orange grip seems to be Bakelite or similar material. The blade as you can see it not even hollow ground. The markings say KA-BAR and under it USA.

Any help in identification would be greatly appreciated.

I have an all black short combo blade KaBar USMC, and I'm looking to pick up a full size plain edge one. I'm also really curious about the new KaBar Adventure series knives, the Potbelly and Baconmaker.

A few Ka-Bars I bought this past weekend. Traded a Case Congress plus a little cash for a Stag and a Bone Handle. The Bone handle has KA-BAR OLEAN NY. stamped on the tang, It's got some age to it but the handle is in great shape. The pictures dont do them justice! The Barn Door I was able to get for under $50.00, always liked the look, the blade is in great shape, although the handle has a very small crack under the center pin. All in all, I think I made out like a bandit. Just thought I would share pics of my find.

hi,
new member
I found this forum looking for info on this ka-bar I picked up at a local junk shop.
Ka-bar / reg US Pat. Off on one side and Union cutlery on the other, which puts it between 1910 an 1952, if I understand correctly. Stacked leather in 3 colors red black and brown with brass spacers. It appears to be an aluminum butt and either aluminum or steel guard.

oh yeah it has 474 stamped on the guard.

any info would be appreciated. I bought it for my step son and would like to have more to tell him about it.

Thanks
Fred
