Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

October 18, 2011

Alexander Noot purposes a beginners knife makers exchange and five folks jump right in. Stephen Tungate, Alexander Noot, Todd Helmkamp, Don Carter and James Ivy (our in house mentor as we learn the art). We decide that December 25th is too soon a date for some to complete the project and set a mailing date of March 1, 2012. A good time was had by all and some terrific knives were exchanged. I can not express what a wonderful idea this was. As everyone completed their project and the mailing began, the excitement began to build. The result was everyone received a custom knife and learned a little more about the art of making a knife.

For the next exchange we would love to have more participants.  See the knives and the fun at http://www.iknifecollector.com/group/knife-beginners

I am sure ya'll had lots of fun. There is probably some members thinking "I can do that", well lets see maybe the next time. I know I want to give it a try.

I've been watching them as they've been posted.  Great work folks.

It was a lot of fun. And there is no "skill level" minimum to participate. That's a big part of the fun. It is knifemaking beginners afterall.

Thanks to everyone for participating....and I also hope some more people play along next time.

Everyone did their best and we all got a new knife.  what could be more fun than that?
