Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

Hi everyone and welcome to our newest members,

Something we have not talked about lately is new aquisitions.  Tell us about your latest and greatest GEC.  Donnie bought me both the new 23's in the Beavertail (Worlds greatest husband by the way)  He got himself the newest 73 in Primitive bone.  THAT is a heck of a nice knife.

What have you gotten lately?

LOL!  I write too violent for Blade.  LOL!  No it will be in Knives Illustrated.

Well that settles it then.  Subscription to KI is on the way

Jan....

Hey thanks young lady.  We appreciate the support.  In this article I coin a new phrase.  This article describes a gun fight which breaks out in a cargo hole of a ship, "Instantly the air is filled with copper jacketed dirt nap pills." The scene reminded me of one of the ambushes at an Iraqi Police check point near Baquba .  LOL!  They were using Glocks and AK's we gave them.  After it was all over we took the guns back...as they were not going to need them anymore.

Very excited.... opened the mail box this morning to find a brand spanking new #45 Dusk Buffalo Horn single blade Lumberjack. Beautiful buff horn, well finished and my first Lumberjack. A big knife but I don't think I'll have to wear braces to have it in myback pocket! It came all the way from Blue Creek Cutlery, my new favorite seller and I'll be backing up for a #57 Buffalo Horn Geppeto Whittler, ohhhh and THEN I saw the Yellow Rose Wrangler in the same series, where will it all end???? Cheers from Gregory in Oz....

Gregory....

SWING GUARD?!  I love those knives.  I have one on the way too.

Gregory,

The dusk buff #45 is a beautiful knife and your right it is a big tool.  A gepetto, a yellow rose...great choices.  Nice to have the next one to look forward to.  Blue Creek Cutlery, our own Ken Mundhenk.  A great gentleman with an awesome reputation as a fair and reasonable dealer.  Nothing feels as good as when your dealer knows you, your collection and your likes

Okay here is the #85.

Nice #85 Johnny! Keep us posted on your field testing.

Tom, I will be using the #85 for sure, it really feels like a classic pattern. I wasn't so sure about the #85s when they first came out, but I couldn't resist that bullet end.

Here is the knife that is getting all of the pocket time, it's an awesome knife and a great gift from my brother.

Johnny....

Great looking knife and braiding.

Very nice Johnny! Love that stag!

I would like to know how GEC serial numbers their knives. Do they number them as the first made gets number one and so on, or do they finish all the knives in a batch put them in a pile and number them as they grab them out the pile, one, two and so on? Anyone have the answer?

"The photos in the previous post are of an old German pruning type knife I just aquired. It surely is interesting, and quite old."
