Yes and well one blade was used for castration. For sure an EDC around spring.

Doesn't just about everybody make one ?!?       I mean .. it is a rather popular model.

My Grand-Dad & most of my great uncles, Dad & his brother's, neighbor's (rural farming community)  carried one as their EDC.

It was explained to me @ an early age ... because they'd always have at least one sharp blade .. no matter how much they'd used the other two in a given day.

... another childhood memory. While we "banded" the steers .. it's the only way I recall doing the pigs.

Most companies that make traditional slip joint pocket knives make a stockman in some form.  But the 2 blade trapper seems to be a pattern that is more popular than the stockman.  If you look at a Case dealer site you will see that the trapper pattern is one of their most popular.  While I consider the 4" to 3 7/8"  stockman the nicer looking knife.  Now I am not that particular but the round bolster will usually win out over the square , but it really depends on the overall shape of the stockman.

Sorry did not mean to get off of the subject.
