Pocket Worn

If I'm not mistaken, this is one thing Case offers that no other manufacturer does; Pocket Worn finish.

Like many other things, some people like it, some don't, and some like me, don't have a preference one way or the other really.

I have to say though, there's something nice about that smoooth rounded polished feeling. It just feel good in the hand. But, it generally does make it feel, especially with the Peanut, a bit less substantial than the regular finish. I like it. If there's a knife and handle combination I want to carry, I don't think I'd care one way or another.

But it IS a cool option to have in knives........in my opinion.

What's your thoughts and feelings on it?

I have a couple of the new pocket worn and I really like them. I also have a few real pocketworn knives and I like them a whole lot better. There is just something that a real pocketworn does to me. I wonder about where the knife has been and who carried it. The story's it could tell. The new one are nice but they just don't have the history.

I guess it would be tough for them to have someone carry them for 30 years and then sell them! LOL!

Got a couple of Seahorses in the pocket worn line. I just wish that CASE would offer more natural colors instead of orange, red green, etc. How about a nice chestnut pocket worn?

I'm with you on that JJ. Nothing like a nice basic brown chestnut bone.Though I DO like their amber bone a lot. I don't think they've done any amber bone in the Pocket Worn.....have they?

Well, since my EDC rotation doesn't allow me to carry any of my Bone handled knives enough times to put a real Pocket worn finish on them. I like the option, but not at an added expense. So I will keep buying the traditional Bone handles variations.

Depending on where you buy them, the difference is only about a dollar or two :)

here is one of the pocket worn series....engraved bolsters etc...to me they are show pieces and not the EDC...what do you think....

From the CASE site---

Pocket Worn made its debut as a series of Old Red Bone knives in the 1996 Case Product Guide. The concept was actually developed as a kind of response to consumers we’d encounter at consumer shows and events. They’d ask, “Why don’tcha make ‘em like this anymore?” after pulling a well-traveled Case knife from their pocket. Needless to say, Pocket Worn became an instant hit. Since then Case has produced Pocket Worn knives in the following handle varieties over the last 15 years: Classic Green, Navy Blue, Natural, Old Black, Antique, Caribbean Blue, Harvest Orange, Aquamarine, Bermuda Green, Old Red, and Caramel.

I've only seen them in the Harvest Orange, Bermuda Green and Old Red. Nice to know there are others out there.

PURTY! I think, once you buy them they're yours.....you can do what you want with them! I've seen guys carrying ones like that!
