I really like the Recruit  Ron! It's a nice size coming in at about 3 1/4" size. I used to carry his brother the Alox Cadet.

Indeed, Craig! 

The Cadet holds a very special place in my heart and in my collection.

And you are correct. The alox Cadet and the cellidor Recruit are both 84mm in length.

I now have 2 more Recruits of different color and configuration heading my way.

Please feel free to post any pictures you might have of your '99 Recruit in this thread.

I would like to extend that same invitation to anyone with a Recruit,

or a Cadet for that matter, to post your pics in this thread.

I used to collect the Classic as a side collection a zillion years ago. But I got tired of them being on my side.....I walked with a limp.

Two new Recruits (new to me) arrived yesterday. Bringing my total of Victorinox Recruits up to 3. One is black and bears a beautiful candy apple red Vic crest along with what appears to be advertising "Egan Davis -Standard" on one side and "ISO 9001" on the other side. The almost iridescent red lettering against the black cellidor is actually quite striking in appearance.

Unlike the first Recruit I posted about in this thread the 2 new ones both have a toothpick and tweezers. The new red one has a fluted corkscrew which dates it to be pre-1991. However, information from Victorinox claims that they were in production until '94. So, take your pick. 

Since it didn't happen unless I post photographic proof. Here are some new pictures of my growing family of Victorinox Recruits...

At the rate I'm accumulating these Recruits I'll have an Army in no time! As I have previously mentioned, their size makes them ideal as an everyday pocket carry. And, they contain a very nice compliment of tools to get you out of those unexpected jams we encounter out there in the concrete jungles of suburbia. If a Swiss Army Knife was good enough for MacGyver, it's good enough for me!
