Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

I am new to this group. I only have 3 Case knives, at this time. A Case Sparxx Trapper, an old Case Barlow that my father carried for close to 40 years. and a NIB 2159L  8 Dot. This set was purchased at a flea market. Several guys have said the love the Hammerhead. I had a Mako when they first came out years ago. But this knife does not have the Hammerhead etch. Instead it has a safety logo from a private building company. Does this affect it's value? I've also heard guys say that sometimes it's better to remove an etch while others say no. Suggestions?

I'd say it wouldn't affect the value. And I'd say if you are just going to collect it, leave the etch.

And welcome to the real addiction that's Case knives! LOL!

I'll warn you now..... Craig is an enabler....

The etch could go either way,  Some may see it as an oddity and place greater value on it.

Yeah, some guys like "different" stuff. Some don't.

Enabler? It takes one to know one. So there.

Birds of a feather Craig.... birds of a feather. LOL

We're more than happy to help you spend your money Chuck.  Welcome to the world of Case.

Hey thanks Paul! I am always at a loss on how to spend my money. Bills, insurance, groceries, gas, and all the other little things usually distract me from finding a really good way to spend money. Buying more knives would be a nice change of pace.If we can get more people, including me, back to work we could have more disposable income to dispose of. LOL

Yeah, that Bill guy gets way too much of our knife money.

We gotta have the gas to go to the knife store to feed the need, and we gotta get groceries so we have something to cut with all the knives we buy.

I save buy not buying new underwear. And using soap only once a week.

My shorts are more patch than shorts. Note to self: NEVER STAND DOWNWIND FROM CRAIG!

Words to live by.

Is there an article that will tell me how to decipher the tangstamp numbers for steel, handle material, blade, and so on. I need to start learning the difference between a 33 and a 34 and all the other pertinent information. I thought I had such a sheet but can't seem to find it. Thanks guys!! Us newbies can be a lot of work.
