Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

In days gone by, folks used knives everyday and 'bout all day long. Knives were used for cleaning freshly caught fish for dinner, opening a can of beans to cook on the open fire, cutting rope and leather straps, to passing the time by whittling on a stick.

My how times have changed.

So, let me ask you- the last time you used your knife, what did you use it for?

Willow whistles. Now THAT takes me back! I would whittle one every morning on the way to school, when I was a kid on the farm. I'd give it to one of the girls at school, for various and sundry things and favors...
The last time I used my EDC was this morning- I cut an apple in half...nothing major.
Making my belt shorter. Before that, It was to cut open a box that contained a new knife. A Seahorsie (surprise) with custom petrified Palm handles. I still use my knife for cutting limbs, leather, boxes, and cleaning my fingernails. That's a job that's NEVER changed for my knife!
Um, Steve... About your hookah. I don't think I'da told that.
Ain't that kind'a private?
Surely you aren't using those fancy-handled knives to "work" with, now are you Jim? I can't bring myself to use any of my knives.....I usually just use a kitchen knife when I need to cut something :)
This is my EDC...

J J Your peach seed carvings are really cool.
I bet those little suckers are hard as a rock to try to cut too!
Making a Peach Pit Basket.

You don't cut them, unless the pits are from hot-house peaches. Those are soft. Good pits are extremely hard. About all you do is scrape a little off at a time. It is an addictive past-time. They're easy to carry around, so I always have something to do. I got a whole bunch of baskets made last year, during my youngest daughters soccer practices.

I used a fixed blade to pop a top offa ice cold brew in my home.
I decided to get some extra energy out Tues. afternoon by taking my Condor DB Axe out back to chop and break up wood pieces so they'd fit in the trash bin.The SOG Fusion tomahawk saw some chopping too. That DoubleBit Axe chops nice with the maple handle I put on it recently!
