Got this great picture of a bobcat on my game camera.  He is definitely on my shoot list if I see him while hunting.  He is definitely not a little kitten!

Nice looking cat.  The head seems a little small.  I hope you two cross paths.  The story will be interesting.

I'm hoping he avoids you, Charles.  I like bobcats.  I know they are threat to livestock and all but there is something about predatory cats that I just like. And he is looking straight at the camera as if he knows it is there!

Well, if you get him, make something out of that beautiful coat of fur.

Yes they are.  I know the landowner where I hunt will want me to shoot him if I see him.  It isn't a threat to his full grown cattle but young calves would be in danger.  I found this statistic on the internet, According to the National Agricultural Statistics Service, bobcats killed 11,100 sheep in 2004.  They are a definite threat to sheep and goats.  They also can kill deer.

He probably does know the camera is there or at least that there is something there.  It emits infrared light to take the picture at night.  I don't know if cats can see infrared light.  I know humans can't.  But the camera has a little red light that glows when something trips it.  So he could at least see that.

I know what you mean Tobias,  They are a magnificent animal.

That is a good idea Billy.  A friend of mine shot one a few years ago while deer hunting.  He had it mounted.  I wouldn't do that.  For one thing my wife would never let me bring it in the house.  But to make something out of the fur would be neat.
