Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

If you have ever broken a nail trying to open a strong springed knife or a difficult soda-pop can, then you know how helpful the proper tool for such a purpose can be. As I get older, I find that my once stout nails are becoming more and more like my hair, thin and fragile. Slipjoint knives, unless perfectly engineered and perfectly made, have become very difficult for me to open without an assist. Square tanged knives are very difficult without the proper tool.

Always a believer in never using a crow-bar or pry-bar when a simple jimmy would do, I have designed a very simple tool. It measures only 1-7/8" long and 5/8" wide and it is a mere 0.038" thick. The curved front edge has been machined to a precise bevel for a secure fit into the nail mark on any antique or modern slip-joint knife. I have added a positioning button for the thumb. On the basic tool it is black Rucarta™. We also offer the tool at slightly higher prices with Cocobolo and with stabilized Wooly Mammoth Ivory. This is the tiniest of tools and is made of spring tempered stainless steel. It should last for many years of hard use.

OK, Chase... I'm gonna' help you out, here. As a guitar player, I eat lots of Jello. First, it puts a happy smile on my face, and second, it makes my fingernails hard. And makes my hair look beautiful. With that kind of sheen that just says "STUD"! Well, for a 66 year old dude!
Anyhow, I would like to see some prices and pictures.
Thanks...
Uncle Jim
That sounds useful on some of those new "needs to be broken in" and old "was broken in now its stuck" Elephant Toenails. You should make Scott a beta-tester.
Haven't I seen this in a catalog? Frank
Black Rucarta $5.95
Mammoth Ivory $9.95
Cocobolo $7.95
Not yet, you may be thinking of the old Hen & Rooster ones we had a few years ago, but they looked much different. These are currently only available through the Knife Collectors Club brochure. They will be up on the website in a few weeks.
The Steel Thumbnails are currently available through the Knife Collectors Club brochure that is hitting the mailboxes now. If you would like to become a member and get the first stab at new and limited knives, sometimes with discounted prices for the duration of that brochure, then go to www.k-c-c.com and click subscribe to become a member, it is just $10 a year. You can also go to www.agrussell.com and sign up for our weekly e-mail specials, it's free. When you get the e-mail specials each Wednesday there is a link for the current brochure, but you can't get any of the discounted prices if you are not a KCC member.
