The online community of knife collectors, A Knife Family Forged in Steel
A guy at our local knife club meeting thought it might be a tobacco knife. I was hoping that some of the more experienced older members might shed some light on this one. It is cerrtainly an interesting old knife, at least it is to me.
I have since polished the litte bit of rust off of the area where the tang stamp is.
I have never seen the like. That blade shape is completely new to me.
But I am not a big folder guy either.
modified sheepsfoot?
About as close as anything else, Jan. You may be right. Thanks for the insight.
Could it be a "rope knife?"
The only 'rope' knives I have heard of, are sailor's knives. But the ones of those I have seen have a little more of a 'cleaver' like blade. That pronounced hump on the spine is throwing me off.
Looks like a budding knife, to me, George.
Perhaps a Victorinox clone.
KB, I have no idea.
