I believe Colt as well as Frost are all models made in China. If no stamp on the blade you have to assume China made. its hard to tell exactly because you don't have a picture. It could be an older knife where country of origin was on the box not on the blade. If you have no box, may be hard to match up unless you can find one identical on the internet. Just an idea though.

Yeah I think that is the original Jan and then a 'knock off" came out by possibly Colt, but I didn't think ebony I would think maybe a very dark micarta. Do you have a picture?

With or with the pictures, this was fun. I am a research junkie so it gave me an opportunity to look at some knives I had not looked into before. Let's see if anyone else responds
This Barry Wood was made in Japan and I think I paid $9.98 for this knife. On one side of the blade is says Valor, Miami, U.S.A. and on the other side it says 440 Stainless, 479, Japan.
