Original Style Bowie

by Leopold Lacrimosa on December 10, 2011

Wanted to show off this Bowie by Frank Kramer.

It is in the style that some believe that Jim Bowie actually carried in the "Sandbar" fight.

Here's a really nice Bowie which fits good in the hand and has a very nice balance. Made in Toledo, Spain.

Here are some of my Bowies.

This one was almost 2 feet long!

This baby had a mustard finish with a copper Habaki. My logo was punched in the Habaki and filled with silver solder.

Thank you for the compliment. The bowie has been given the the Arkansas Knife Makers Association and will be given away as a door prize at their knife show next spring in Little Rock Arkansas. A bowie like this one sells for $800.00 The blade is 10 inches long and the oal is somewhere around 16 inches. The blade thickness on the spine is 5/16 of a inch on the spine tapering to the point and the blade width is about 1 1/2 inches

I just finished this bowie and thought you might want to take a peek. The steel is 1084 and the guard, pommel and ferrule are 416 stainless steel, the ferrule also has stipples silicon bronze. The handle is Sambar Stag. Hope you like it. J.R.
