OK. This is a 2-blade pocket I picked up years ago. Pretty decent quality. At first I thought Golden Rule, but the stamp isn't the same. As you can see, it advertises a business in Gowanda, NY. The tang stamp, which I tried to get as clear a pic as possible of, LOOKS like "GOO" or GCC," Gowanda, NY. Can anyone help at all? Can't find reference one to this mark. Thanks in advance.

Not having any luck so far...so hard to tell with that stamp. Even tried some photo filters to try to enhance the stamp a bit. Nope.
Sorry; pic was the best I could do
I have looked & looked & can't find anything more than the C. Platts and Schatt & Morgan making cutlery in Gowanda, N.Y.. I dd find verification of a QCCC stamp .. but .. it's a G not a Q & it was after S&M had moved to Titusville.
.
I also checked "Levine's Guide to Knives" & "The Standard Knife Collector's Guide" by Roy Ritchie & Ron Stewart .. to no avail.
.
It's the GCCC that has me stumped. I am unable to find anything on the net that matches or helps. If you do find an answer .. I'm Interested ..as.. it's now driving me to distraction (in a good way).

I think it is G.C.CO.
Gutmann Cutlery Co.

Thanks, but what would the GCCC stand for? The only Gutmanns I've seen used the Guttmann name...
I did find a GCCO stamping that is attributed to Gutmann ..but.. not sure the time frame fits up. i.e. Gutmann was in business from '47 ~ '97 ...and... was there a knife manufacturer active in Gowanda, N.Y. during that period of time ?
Link to discussion Re: the last pic is HERE.
SO0o .. Jan is absolutely correct on the G.C.CO. being Gutmann.
But, I don't know what manufacturer was active in Gowanda, N.Y. post 1946.
However ... if it was private labeled .. (SFO) .. one can get anything one wants stamped on the tang.

This si too early to be Gutmann based on the above. Guess it was a private label deal
Thought the celluloid picture knives were limited to the 20s, though...
