I am a long time collector of Mr. Herron's knives. I met him in his shop in Aiken, SC when I was about 5 or 6 years old. My dad had seen an article about his knives in a SC Wildlife magazine and called him up. He invited us out for a visit and Dad bought his first Herron knife. Over the years Dad ordered and bought a few more. My first deer skinners were from Mr. Herron and we soon added a few folders into the mix as well. As I got older and got a real job I bought a few more and started to pick them up on the second hand market as well. Before I knew it we had a pretty large collection with a pretty broad mix of styles. I love my Herrons, but miss visiting the shop and seeing what he was working on and listening to his stories. He was known for being a great person as well as a great knife maker. When he passed I decided to put a collection of pictures, articles, etc. together on the Internet so that people would have a reference to go to. I try to update/add to it a couple of times a year and I am grateful that there continue to be articles written about him that I can add.
