So I got given to me a set of 8 original miming steak knives from 1948 in the original box with gerber legendary blades engraved on the bottom. The reason I know they are from 1948 is because there is a brochure in the box copyrighted 1948. Does anyone know the worth of these as I cannot find any information about them ANYWHERE online, which leads me to believe they are rare. Thanks

Carl, a search on eBay revealed some pricing for you at least a ball park. I have included a link to follow to get you to the same search. A comparable set may go for $75.00 $140 just a guess. But take a look at what they have, see if you can find one or two close to what you have  and if you like, monitor it to see what they actually sell for.
