Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

I recently purchased a second henckels skinning knife. i phoned the company directly and they had no information for me. when i asked for the phone number of the international headquarters they said that i would only be referred back to them. not the customer service you expect from a prominent company. does anyone have any information on this knife.

wow henckel makes skinning knives? >_> we sell those at my work and i have NEVER heard of them. like a hunting/skinning knife? are u sure ur not thinking of flay knives? i'm pretty sure they dont make skinning knives but, i could be wrong considering they make pocket knives. where exactly did u get it?
Igot it a a flea market and the company can't or won't answer my inquiry

You've said that already.

What knife?  There is no picture or link to any knife?  What are the marking on the knife, please list them as well since it's hard to make them out most times in photos...What type of handle?
J.A Henkels is also known as Zwilling and they do make knives for commercial kitchens/butchers that you can use in the bush but are geared more towards kitchens then the wilds...I have never seen the upswept type on blade common to a skinning knife offered by any of the Zwilling line up of knives in the last couple of decades but what they had back in the 1950s or earlier, who knows?
The small chef's knives in the Profection series have quite a bit of belly to them as do the blades from the Pure series--could you be mistaking these for skinners?

John,

I also am not aware of them but I would LOVE to see a picture.  You know I am a research junkie, if you get me the info I will find out all I can.  I may know a person or two that can get us some answers on it
