Hi Zach - welcome to the group! Does being born in Kennewick count?  Of course I'm not there now....but hey...I can spell Walla Walla with the best of them.

Hi Zack. Welcome.  Yeah there are a few of us here from Washington, not a lot.  I am in Renton myself.

Yes but Lars . . . can you still pronounce Sequim and Puyallup?

Of course my dear...it's in the DNA, as is being able to properly pronounce Willamette and Couch Street!

Right here is a great place to start! Beginners Collecting is great for information. Research and Resources is very helpful as well. Check our Groups page for things that catch your eye...like certain styles or brabds. Jump in the Chat Room and ask questions. We love questions. We have lots of informed and experienced members that like to help out. And they can certaimly suggest any relevant reading materials. I think you have already found the best place to start.

As Manx has said, you are in the best place. Books can be helpful though. A good one to start with is Levines guide, youll have to find an old copy and it does have some debatable info, but its a good general info source to most styles of knife. Look for a used copy in a used book store.

Other than that post pics here and ask questions, and have fun.  Wecome.

Well Jeff, I think our guys have headed you in all the right direction!  As Michael said
