How does your spouse react to yet another knife being purchased?

I have discovered that I like many of you have a passion for  knives.  Very soon in the collection process you acquire more knives then you need for EDC.  How does your spouse react when the Mail or UPS drives delivers your newest Knife???????????

As long as it's one that I'll use to carve her something, she doesn't say too much.  However I try to get the mail and any UPS shipments BEFORE she gets a chance to.

Don't want to push my luck you know.

Well assuming its not for her...lol! She supports my hobby but every so often its a mad dash to the mailbox!lol!

I have my knives shipped in porno movie boxes so she knows I am receiving something for a friend whose dog bites the UPS guy.

At my house we celebrate togeather when a new one comes.  Donnie learned early on to get me involved and excited about his passion for knives.  We have my collection, his collection and our collection.  Ihave to admit though, Ken has an interesting way of dealing with it

Well I would say she should be awarded  no knives in the property settlement if she is going to be that way.

No spouse = NO PROBLEM!....lol

I make sure there is a leg knife or a mini for her if possible. Or , I don't remember ordering that. I wonder why that was sent here. Here is another way to keep the peace, honey what do you need for the kitchen, just go for it. I'll get you some new kitchen knives.

Bret & I collect together.  It's terrific fun & I know has brought us closer as a couple.  We always have something to talk about!  :)

My significant other acually was collecting long before I started.   I spent most of my life with nothing but the one  in my pocket. She had a dozen or so old knife treasures of  sentimental significance that had been used by her family members including some used  by them so survive, and evade and fight the Japanese in the jungles of the Phillipines during WWII.  You  can't just buy that kind of thing from Cutlery Corner.

She is a regular missionary for collecting. We have given some knives to her friends , open up the WR Case 18 pattern roll(my pets) say pick one and instead of using them , I see them displayed in prominent places in their homes , on the Little Giant Knife stands.  Their collection may consists of one, but the display says everything. A knife is a tool, but the I think its   best use is to gift it to someone special.  There is no gender preference in this great avocation, hobby, game, business, sport, addiction, blessing whatever it becomes.

if she only had any idea she wood devorce me .she will not spind a pinney on anything, she is so tight you can hear her coming 50 miles away.Ilove my wife but she do'nt understand about collecting

I don't have time to answer this correctly but a good quality knife collection is worth money and if bought right and taken care of the value will probably only increase. I want everyone to consider the increase of price of some knives over the last few years. I have some that have tripled in price. Check out the interest on a savings account at the bank and tell me what the increase is? Just my thoughts on this...

Mine mostly get turned over for gifting at birthday, father's day, Christmas etc.  Makes gift shopping easier on her!  And, of course, any knife show, antiquing trip, family vacation are "knife holidays" allowing instant accumulation.  Plain brown wrappers work too!!  LOL.  Best, Dan

I just refer my wife to her latest Temptations order.
