Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

Greetings all,

I just joined and am still poking around getting my bearings but I wanted to say a quick hello.  Looks like a great place!  Why haven't I found this before?

I'm an old timer but only recently began taking an interest in knives.  Up to now you could call me more of an accumulator than a collector.  I started off buying a Spyderco Tenacious on impulse a few years ago and soon took an interest in modern folders. Just this past February I began gravitating towards traditional slip joints.  My "collection" currently consists of about 75+ knives ranging from Rough Rider to Case to GEC to Spyderco to a William Henry.  My other interests are travel, history, photography, woodturning, and spending time with my grandkids.

I look forward to learning and sharing with you!

Wow nice Neal! I am a Grandpa too and love Rough Riders Case, GEC and Queen ...throw in some Ag Russell a few Colts OK more than a few and a whole drawer of Vintage type knives!

Neal, so glad to have you here on IKC. Texas is a great state. I have kids in Katy. Sounds like you have a great collection started. We look forward to learning and sharing with you also. Again, welcome to IKC, I think you will like the IKC family. Great people and great knives. Ken

Welcome Neal!  You sound a lot like me.  I was an accumulator for several years before I became a collector.  The two brands that I now focus on are Case and Rough Rider.  I also have several Bucks.  Two patterns that I focus on are Mini Blackhorns (a sub set of Case) and fish knives.  And I love to spend time with my grandkid.  (So far only one.)

You have come to a good great place to learn and share about knives.  No matter what brand or pattern you collect or are interested in, you will find someone here who shares the same interests.  Here are links to some groups that you might enjoy.

Welcome aboard. We look forward to answering any questions...or at least trying to answer. We have very informed people here and that we don't know can be solved with a little research.

Welcome (again) to iKC. Definitely glad you found us. Your bio says that you should feel right at home here. If you have and questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Welcome Neal. Hey don't worry there's a lot of old Paw Paws here. Just have fun.

Nice to meet you Neal, and welcome home!

I love the responses, The guys are all right, jump right in and have some fun

Thanks for the warm welcome, all.  It's a pleasure to be here.

I'll be very interested to learn more about traditional slipjoints.  That seems to be the direction my collecting habits are taking, especially in the field of Barlows and "one-arm" razor blades.  That will at least give me a focus for a while.

In the Group Bladesmith Babes there is a lot of info on Traditional Knives. Miss Sue has worked hard on the history of this type of knives. Check it out. I'm a Traditional Folder Collector also. Good Luck.

Welcome !! Ima Pappy LOL

Welcome, Neal. This is a great site with wonderful people here. I'm sure you will enjoy it, I sure have!
