Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

Just a quick note to let you know about a minor improvement, coming this week, that will hopefully save you a little time and make the creation of content easier. We’ve added the ability to preview some content where you previously didn’t have that choice.

You’ve always had the ability to preview a blog post before publishing it. However, doing so took you out of the writing flow. The system would save a draft and open your preview in a new window. It also then forced you to click a link to come back to your draft after previewing to keep writing, which meant another save and load of a new window. This could be a laborious process if you needed to preview a blog multiple times before actually publishing it.

To help streamline this, we’ve changed the way the Preview button works. Now, it immediately opens your blog preview in a new, separate window. Your current blog draft will stay open in its own window, and you can continue working on your draft at any time. While this is not a radical change, it will probably save a lot of time over time.

We’ve added this functionality to forum discussion posts, too. Previously, forum discussions did not have any preview possibilities, forcing you to edit a post after publishing. Now, if you need to make an important announcement but want to see what it will look like before it’s live for everyone, you can. Also, you'll be able to preview in Group forums, too.

Again, this isn’t a massive change, but a simple one that we hope will make life a little easier and save a few moments along the way.

Thanks Hog, I'll have to show this to my secretary...lol

Hog,

Thanks, for those that post multiple times per day this will really be a time saver

Guess what?  I have not been able to preview my posts but wanted to badly.  I figured it just wasn't a capability of the software.  So I was going to post something about it in this forum.  Before doing so I figured I'd check to see if it has been discussed yet.  Obviously it has and the issue is resolved.  Except for one thing. I don't know how to do it.  Can someone please educate me in the button to click or however it's done?

Being able to preview my posts and correct obvious errors prior to everyone seeing it is one way I like to keep people from knowing how dumb I really am. :)

Jack,

Excellent work in finding this.  This is specific to blog posts.  Those that run in the middle of the page and have to be approved before being available to the site

When you are creating your blog post it will give you the option to save as a preview.  Just hit the preview button opposite the one that says post.  I use it alot when doing show reviews because it lets me check picture placments

Here is a quote from Steve's original post (4th paragraph, 1st sentence):

We’ve added this functionality to forum discussion posts, too.

Does this apply to what I am typingg right now?  If I don't catch the spelling error and correct it before I "Add Reply" everyone will know I can't spell. :)

Sounds great Steve. One problem I have when posting pictures in a group, I can only see a slice of the picture I am righting about. If I explaining things about it, would sure be nice to be able to see it.

I kant spele to gude eether Jack. giggle, or, uh google does it for me. LOL!

let me ask a question guys because my view of these is different than yours.  Once you have written in a post do you have an edit button under your own post?

As I am typing now I don't see an edit button.  This backs up your saying the option is only available on blog pages.  It's just the statement I mentioned that made me think the option is here as well.  If not, can we putit there?  I used a sharpie and drew my own edit button but it doesn't work. :)

Wait.  After I added my reply I do have an edit button.  I'm starting to get confused now.  I want a way to preview the finished post PRIOR to hitting the "add reply" button.  What I am missing that I wish I had is a "preview" button allowing me to see the post.  Sometimes it's easier to detect misspelling or decide to re-phrase a sentence when reading it in final form.  Also we can be sure text is in the correct place when pictures are added.

There is not a way for us to add it :(

Blog is the only PREVIEW, I am aware of

Correct Jan, you can preview blogs and A discussion you started! But you can not review comments before posting.
