John, and anyone else, what can you tell me about this little dagger. Its got a 5 1/2" blade and is 9 1/2" overall. The blade was brightly blued, most has worn off. Its not very good quality but not horrible either. The handle apperas to be horn wrapped with copper wire. fittings are brass.

Michael-- This is a WWII era Iranian fighting dagger--These were bought by allied soldiers as souvenirs or  as a boot knives..These generally have fire-blued blades and gold-inlaid blade markings that traditionally included the Persian Crown. The handles were horn, usually buffalo horn. Most were fairly cheaply made, although I have seen a couple similar to yours being offered for $250.00 online.

Thanks John, I thought it was just a cheap souvenier knife. now I know.
