A knife goes around the world

A few Weeks ago iKnifeCollectors own Josh Wills won a knife. Too cool HuH? We all love a give away and being the winner is awesome. Josh had a generous and wonderful idea that we are going to follow and feature right here. As a matter of fact we would like your help.

Josh suggested turning this knife into a 'traveler'. He had the idea of passing the knife around to people that were interested in using it for a week or so and then sending it on to someone else that wanted to try it out. Along the way, you'd add your name and what part of the world you live in to a slip of paper that stays with the knife so there would be a bit of a diary / travelogue accompanying it.

Here's some basic rules to participate:

1) If you agree to take the knife as an 'adoptee', you agree to post a short note on the forum about where the knife is, how it's used and performed. We'd also REALLY like to see a photo(s).

2) You will also be responsible for paying the postage to send the knife to the next participant.
3) Understand, you'll have to share your contact info with the person shipping the knife to you so if that's a problem, don't sign up.

4) Forward the knife after about a week. We don't want it to end up sitting on someone's desk for a month.

A beautiful knife next to some great looking chairs! That Maverick is a worker for sure.

Has anyone worked out how many miles it's traveling?

Thats an interesting thought Craig.  We should do that

Mapquest is an option also...

GPS? I've got GPS??

it is easy to do just use your GPS

1st leg from: Detroit Lakes, MN to Tampa, FL

2nd leg from: Tampa, FL to Willis TX

Total trip from: Detroit Lakes, MN toTampa, FL to Willis TX

2753 Miles!

Wonder what the total will be when it comes home.

We'll have to put notches on the handles for each mile it traveled. LOL!

Well it should be at its new TX adoptee by today and it has added a stop on it tour of the US.  The Maverick has developed a hankerin' for some swamp time so before it heads to its international locations it will also visit Louisiana.

I arrived home from a hunting trip to find the Maverick in my mailbox. I had a couple of deer and a hog in the back of the truck and I was anxious to use the knife. While the knife was too small for the big jobs, it worked great for some deboning work I had to do. It was also my faithful and handy companion while working on my honey do list and many other odd jobs. My time at work is spent both in the office and on the road and I found this knife to be the perfect size and weight for my everyday work carry - just a bit bigger and heavier than my half congress. I would probably prefer to carry my 73 on the weekends for the heavier jobs I encounter. I sure enjoyed the opportunity to share the knife. Thanks Josh!

Paul,

WOW, glad it got such a varied workout!  Looks like it was put through the paces and worked well.  Thanks for hosting the knife...moving on to its next stop!

Mmmm, sausage and cheese, that's a good use for it!
