Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

Hi Fellas.  I have always wanted to buy something more than a cheap beater pocket knife and now that I am researcing knives, I can quickly see myself getting addicted.  I intend to buy that first good quality knife soon and am looking for some guidance.  I am looking for an edc folder under $100.00.  Things that I value in a knife?  A handle I can hold onto due to gripability and or ergonomics, sturdiness for every day utility uses as well as camping, fishing, hiking duties and steel that is hard, durable and able to take and hold an edge.  I have been looking at a lot of knives and seem to be resting on the Spyderco Stretch VG-10.  Anyone have an opinion on the knife or suggestions for other knives?  Thanks for any and all advice.

Cheers.

phillip sounds like you did a great job in getting a good quality knife the spyderco knife always puts out a great knife.i think if you like that type of knife but built like a tank look at the zero tolerance knife zt. it is hard to beat a spyderco but take a look at 0350st zt it is built like a tank this knife will really impress you it is a little over 100 dollars but well worth it it would be a great 2nd knife.because when you have one of the best out there besides a custom knife its hard to beat....

It might interest you that Spyderco offers excellent sharpening systems also. I have a the Triangle Sharpmaker and it is all I require to keep a hair-splitting edge on my EDC's.

Ok so after 2 weeks of hard use cutting cord, rope, plastic  banding, cardboard, weather stripping, fabric, tape, paper packaging, and even shaving a little bit of wood, this knife is still shaving sharp.  I am still impressed with this knife and its blade steel.  I can see me getting waaaaayyyyy too into knife collecting.  Next purchase will be a sharpening system.  I have always used a stone and steel, but I may just bite the bullet and get a rod type sharpener.

Cheers.

and let us know what your next knife is

Yeah I have been eyeballing the Spyderco sharp maker.  Good to hear some positive  feedback about the product.  I will purchase a sharpmaker before I purchase another knife.  I like a knife to always be light sabre sharp.  Thanks for the comments and advise everyone.
