I have a 20 year old knife that's in great shape except for a few little scratches. I was wondering what was the best method for removing them or should I just leave it the way it is? Help please.

Robert .. I'm assuming this is not an EDC .. or why bother .. you'll only scratch it again.

Soooo .. assuming this is NOT to be carried & used .. what brand is it. If it's a 20 yr old CASE .. they'll polish it for you .. FREE. If the manufacturer is still alive .. I'd contact them. OTHERWISE .. I really would leave it alone !!!

... just an opinion ...

Thanks D ale, It's a Schatt Morgan, Slim line Trapper. 1991 the first knife Queen made under that brand name in many years. The knife is like new except for a few little scratches.

Robert .. contact Queen Cutlery Co.

There may be a small fee .. BUT .. having the original manuf remove the scratch will retain the full collecting value of the knife. I would suggest saving all associated correspondence w/ Queen as documentation.

I corresponded briefly with Ms. Jennie Moore during a previous knife project .. I'm sure she'll get you in touch with the proper folks @ Queen.

Please .. let me know how this turns out .. I'm rather fond of Queen Cutlery !!!

Thanks,

 :D ale

Thanks D ale, I'll do just that. It's a great looking little knife with special bone handles. I'll try post a picture later.

...'n here's one .. loose as a goose .. but an all time fav .. PCR4 !!!

... and their current production PH-D2 is phenomenal blade steel !!!!!!!

That's nice D ale, I have a few Queen knives myself. I often wondered why no one has started a Queen group yet? They have a group for about everything else.

That'd be .. unique !!!

It would include knives marketed by practically all the major firms .. as Queen has probably private labeled more knives than they've placed their own stamping on. I've even a few CASE that I know were actually manuf by Queen. That would be a rather interesting group !!!

... 'n I've a couple straight knives out of the 50's by them .. a really sweet little "bird & trout" knife .. will have to break out the camera !!!

D ale, this is Shatt Morgan with a few scratches I've been talking about. It's a really sweet little knife.

D ale, you showed me one of your Queen knives, here's one of mine. 1095 carbon and the real deal stagg.

Robert .. my current EDC is the 06L in honey amber stag bone. Then there's the 41L in either the linerlock version scaled in birdseye maple .. or .. the retired button lock model scaled in rosewood. I gave the full size buttonlock to a younger brother .. and it's field dressed many a WI whitetail.

This PCR2doctor's knife served active duty as my EDC for about a year. And I've a CASE family doctor's knife stamped KINFOLKS that came off the same tooling. I ordered them both @ the same time from PKCS .. spoke on the phone to Buzz that day.

... am still digging for QUEEN's older fixed blade "bird & trout" fixed blade .. 'n in the process .. uncovered a "JEAN CASE" over "CUT CO" .. a straight line "REMINGTON" over "RH1" .. a "SHRADE-WALDEN" over "N. Y.   U. S. A." over "H-15" .. a "KINFOLKS" over "U.S.A." .. model 330-4 (tang stamped opposite side) .. and a "WESTERN" over "BOULDER COLO." over "PAT. NO. 1.967.478" ... Holleeshitzkee .. I need to go dig in that closet some more !!!!!
