Here is the rough design, as I tweek it I will post the updates.  Please let me know what you might change.  It will be a 4-4.5" blade with about the same size handle.

What materials are you thinking about?  I like the design

was thinking damascus 3/16 thick and some black palm handle... maybe a damascus cap on the end
after putting my knife through a bit of photoshop I'm thinking of not going with the black palm crosscut, and going instead with a black died maple burl.

Great photoshop!!  It looks like your actually using two types of handle material.  Have you considered using a small peice of ivory between them at the cut?  Just some type of accent to set it off.  Just a thought, I love the knife.

That is actually a pic of one piece of burl.  I liked how it changed so i added it as the material and thought it looked great... but multiple materials would look good on that, thanks for the idea.
It looks very nice. But the big giant hole in the handle looks like it could be a MASSIVE weak spot.
