Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

Normally for the upcoming Knife World I put something on the front page.  I feel the article coming to you soon is more important than that.  Whether you collect Ivory or not, this law effects you, it effects all of us.  The thing that keeps running through my mind on this is that it sets a precedence that you are guilty.  Even if the object is not a knife.  Let's think this through.

Your wife has a hair comb that belonged to her great grandmother.  Every generation has a picture showing this item has been in the US and in the family for 90 years.   It is still illegal, it did not come through the correct port, which was not open then.  Are they coming to get it?  NO.  Is it Asian Elephant Ivory?  Who the heck knows, they didn't sell items with provenance paperwork back then.

Fast forward, the item is now willed to your grand daughter, in another state.  In order for her to inherit it, you have to turn over the object, the documentation and pay to have a DNA test done on the ivory.  So they damage the item ( a harmless hair comb)  They send you back the damaged item, your documentation and advise that yes it is Asian Elephant.  You can still own it but it can never be willed, sold or transported across state lines.

Read the articles, get involved!

Yes it is serious and most folks have no idea.

Seems funny to me, the number of people talking about it in the show this weekend and the number that said "well, I heard about that".  Seems they can pass whatever they want these days without ever informing the public of what is up

Americans should be able to vote on this subject, not let someone else decide for them. I disagree with law and I have no plan on obeying it.
