Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

At the November 2008 Tulsa show, I picked up 4 knives from an older gentleman.  At least two are stamped "CHUBBY" on the guard and it appears to have been stamped freehand.  Three of them are visible in this pic, the ones on the stand:

Any idea who CHUBBY might be?

Thanks!

I am going to say probablly a custom maker. Goins' Encyclopedia of Cutlerly markings has just about every concievable maker and it isn't listed here.
Good info on full name and town.
I had never heard of Chubby Hueske
The mystery continues I guess.........
Cubby Hueske was one of the founding members of the Knife Makers Guild, which was founded in 1970 along with AG Russell, TMDowell , Jim Pugh and others founded The Knife Makers Guild in Tulsa OK. Hueske lived in Bellaire, Texas (inside of Houston) and died sometime in the early 1980s, I think.

I have one Hueske knife that does not have his hometown or first name stamped on it. It is a one-of-a-kind whale tooth handle knife. On one side this knife simply has "Hueske" stamped into the choil near the hilt, on the other side is stamped the serial number "871".
