i don;t know anything about this knife .but i hope someone does...
Wow good pic Stephen. That is unusual but I swear I've seen that somewhere..I've got to think about it. I can't make out the tang stamp, any idea..what does it say?

Stephen .. I see a tang stamping of STAINLESS over STEEL over  JAPAN .. is there anything else ??????

Very nice pic !!!

dale that is the only tang stamp on it.stainless steel japan thats what gets me.you would think there would be more...

It's an equal-end 4-blade lobster pen .. but the lack of a manuf''s stamp is indicative of a mass produced item .. the leather scales are unique .. 'n let me again remark "nice pic" !!!

Did you use a tri-pod ??

Very nice picture where did you get the knife from?

Just a thought Stephen, if you get the catalog form Smokey Mountain Knife Works, look at the September 2011 issue, page 11.. There they talk about a new line of knives from Victronix, called Tomo Collection.  If you want to see a version online use item # V6201A.

The page goes on to say the design and packaging of the knife are the work of Japanese Designer K azuma Yamaguchi, whose work has been featured in the Los Angeles Museum of Modern Art.

Now all that said...I don't think you have the actual Victronix version of the knife, because you don't appear to have composition handles. But the knife design is so different and does closely match the ones by Victronix and the designer is Japanese, at least matching that tang stamp....

Well don't know if the mystery deepens or if we are on the road to an answer?

Wow, maybe the same designer?  Cool find Stephen
i bought this knife off of ebay vintage knives and swords someone told me they thought it was made in the 1940's but i don't know. and dale i did not use a tripod all i have is a kodak easyshare m349 10.2 megs..but thanks

@ Stephen .. all I have is an Olympus ~ Stylus 1050 (10.1 Mpixel) .. but it gets the job done !!!!

I've also got one of those cheapie tri-pods .. the legs are a whopping 7" (extended) .. but it's enough to make a difference some times. Especially w/ those macro shots. I avoid using the flash to minimize  resulting glare & reflection. But that increases the exposure time such that I can never hold the camera still enough .. hence .. the lil cheapie tri-pod.

Your pic is clear enough I was able to blow it up & read the stamping w/ no difficulty .. nice job !!!

i still need help finding out about this knife maybe someone has found one like it lately.thanks.....
