Can anyone share any information about this knife? The markings read: MARBLE-SAFETY AXE CO-GLADSTONE-MICH U.S.A. Measures just over 10", the sheath is about 9". I just picked it up today and love the look and feel of it. I would like to know any information such as date of mfg., value and rarity if anybody can help.
Thanks,
Mike.

Here's a better photo, the wording is tough to read even though the knife is in good shape.
By your info it looks like
it would be the 1918-1928.
Which ever one it is I really like it.
Thanks for you help.
Mike.

That Stamping is mentioned as a special stamp maybe of a prototype any way the stamping is rare from what I have seen thanks for showing . The only one that I know that would know for sure would be Gordon White Of Cuthbert Ga. Phone #229-732-6982 he is the EXPERT !!!!!!
Wow, awesome info Gary, that's very exciting. Thanks for taking the time to research and share your knowledge.
Looks like I might get serious about knife collecting instead of it being an on and off again thing like it's been.

Update,
You are right Gary about Gordon's knowledge, we talked several times and he is very gracious with his time. All I did was read the info on the tang and before I could get out another word he described it perfectly as if it was in his hand instead mine, very impressive. He thinks that it is pre 1910 and extremely rare, I sent some pictures to a friend of his since he doesn't have a computer.
I have already picked up two more knives, a Vendetta Corsa (not really my style but it's in exc. condition) maybe I'll put it on the trade board, and a Kabar with a knotting bar(?), maybe I'm drawn to unusual items.
Thanks.
Mike.
See what you've started!

Sorry not sure what year the catalog is...:(

I believe that type of pommel is called a "thistle top"?
Thanks Trent for taking the time to share your book pages & knowledge.
This really is a friendly forum. The other two forums that I sometimes visit are hot rods and motorcycle but
it's real easy to get lost in that environment.
This is the third marbles knife that has found me in the last year.
The one on this page, a safety axe with black handle (which I only kept because I thought it
was so odd looking) and what looks like a yacht knife according to your picture, the one with the hole
in it.
Must be for a way to attach to your trousers.
Mike

That is one sweet sweet 100 yr old knife you got there, Micheal !!!!

1898 Marble’s Safety Axe Co.™ is incorporated.
1911 The company becomes "Marble Arms & Mfg. Co.™"

Thanks Dale, it is definitely my favorite.
