So I think a "my first knife" post is fun, and maybe could be a forum section unto itself.

Mine goes like this-

When I was a kid in the early 1990s my father would take me to work with him, and we would usually end up at the local construction supply house, with the old fella Bernie behind the counter. They had a Case display on the counter that I would end up staring at and drooling over every time. Finally, my father either bought me, or he says maybe Bernie gave me, a Case small stockman, A couple years later, being a dumb kid at the time, I lost it, bartered it away, or allowed it to be stolen by a buddy or relative.

So, I don't know exactly what it was, it could have been a 6333 in Smooth Chestnut, or a 7333 in Walnut or something like that. Definitely a 33 definitely smooth not jigged, redidsh brown in color.

So my Case collecting started in the search for the knife of my memory from when I was between 8 an 12 years old.

James,

You know, as a lady of a certain age, my childhood only included time with my brothers knives ot the one girl scout knife we shared as a troop. Along comes a wonderful husband and a search for info on his favorite knife and blade, a wharncliff. That is how I bought the first knife for him and it led to my love of a wharncliff and his gifting me one. Some of us did not come to it early but we have come to it happily, our combined collection is somewhere in the neighborhood of a thousand knives :)
