Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

Just wanted to introduce myself.  I am Dave and just joined up.  I have had knives all my life but just got into the hobby of pocketknives early last year.  I bought a Case XX Select small coke bottle in 1998 and carried it everyday until I lost it somewhere early last year.  I did an extensive web search to try and find that knife but quickly discovered it was no longer made.  Even a search on the secondary market failed to locate it.  In the process I found several forums with gads of information on pocket knives and I discovered there was more to pocket knives than Case.  Companies I had never heard of were making great quality knives right here in the good old USA.  GEC, Canal Street, Queen/S & M.  I now own several of each.  Like most of you I am usually draw to a knife or I am not and I buy what I like regardless of whether anyone else likes it or not.  I carry my knives and enjoy them.  At 63 years old I don't ever buy one for just investment.  Sorry for the length of this post but just wanted to let you know how I got here and by the way I was able to find an exact replacement for the Case XX Select small coke bottle that I lost.  It cost me more than I originally paid but I gladly paid it.  It was a case of losing a knife and being disappointed that was turned into a wonderful entry into a great hobby.  Look forward to learning a lot and sharing my thoughts with you.

Dave

Well Dave, were certainly glad you found us. We all arrive by different ways, but that's the fun part of the journey.

Relax and look around here at iKC, its a great place to hang your hat.

Dave,

Well we are certainly glad you found us here!  That is essentially the same as how I got hooked, doing some research on a Case knife on the web.  It is a wonderful hobby and I love it when someone says, I just buy what I like.  To me that means they are enjoying the hobby!  Take a look around, have some fun and let me know if I can do anything for you as you get more familiar with the site

Dave,

I am glad you found iKC. It is one of the greatest place in world to hang out, as far as I am concerned. No need to apologize for the long post. We enjoy learning about one another and how we each got involved in collecting. I hope you enjoy yourself here and visit often.
