Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

Lots of things to do in the spring, one is knowing when to plant and when to wait.

May 10th is my last frost date, passed down from my grandmother. She said you plant something

that comes up before then, you will be covering it up!  Pop he said oh just use the almanac to plant and

weed and you will be okay.

This year I started the lettuce early. We had a spell of hot weather and that is all

I needed for good germination.

Such fun it is to grow your own veggies and so Healthy for you too.

Hope everyone joins me in Gardening this year and post their pictures of veggies and flowers and such.

Lettuce is 4  days old, the cages is to keep my dog from digging...lol

Lettuce is up , black seeded simpson, salad mix and crunch

Violets blooming, going to try them in salad tomorrow.

Great Gardens! Because of rabbits like that, I have to fence in my gardens. They'll eat em all up.

We found the hard way that Rabbits will eat most anything. At least in our yard!

There is one wild rabbit I have seen going Thump thump thump thru our yard to the neighbors but so far I havent seen any damage here. Guess we have enough clover in our yard to keep them entertained.

Today;s harvest

Nabbed the scales out of the garage...This is the biggest tomato so far in ounces!

still a way to go to get those 2 lb ones...lol

We have sure been eating good, right out of the Garden, Green Beans, Cabbage-fried and slaw, carrots, potatoes, yellow peppers, cucumbers, Summer squash and Zuchinni, Tomatoes, Turnips, onions - and maybe there is something else I am not thinking about. Nothing like eating fresh from the Garden.

Something we just tried this year: Joyce has been making fried potatoes with yellow peppers fried with them. Delicous.

Nice Garden Ken, ohhhh...i wish i had room for green beans this year too!....and so far I havent found anyone with zukes

yet.

Biggest tomato so far a genuine Italian...you can tell what happens when they get TOO much water ...well I just pick them and eat em....lol

Joyce is making Chicken with lots of fresh Garden vegetables on the side. Fried cabbage, green beans, summer squash, cucumbers and tomatoes. Yum Yum. Thank God for Joyce and the Garden.

In our flower garden

Fresh veggies are hard to beat. We have a lot of tomatoes but they are small next to Ya'lls.

That tomato is a meal in itself!
