Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

Either I'm having a senior moment, or perhaps the picture posting protocols have changed?

I like to store my knife pictures on a web hosting site.  Then post them into whatever forum I'm on.  I have done that on iknifecollector in the past, but have been unable to do so the last couple of visits.

When I click on the "add image" icon, a popup appears.  It gives me the option to upload a picture from my computer, but the option to post from an on-line site is grayed out.

Is it possible to post from my hosting account?

Frank, I am unaware of that as an option ever being available on iKC. But I will look into it for you. Possibly we inadvertently changed something that used to work.  Thanks for the information. If you are in a discussion I have had some success with a simple copy and paste. If you are on your My Page that would not work.

I still have the post from a URL option, Frank. Have you changed web browsers lately? I have problems with different browsers, when it comes to the way pics are uploaded.

Thanks, Steve.  I appreciate you looking at it.  I know I have posted pics from the web hosting service into discussions here in the past.

JJ, I've not changed browsers, exactly, but I did recently upgrade my machine from Win XP to Win 7.  My browser of choice has been Firefox for a number of years, but there are sites which work better for me on IE and I don't mind logging in with that, if it would work.  I've never cared for Safari or Chrome.

Bingo.

When logged in using IE, if I click the "image icon", I get a "URL" option at the top of the popup.  If I click it, I can post from the web hosting service.

When I changed operating systems, I of course had to reload all the other software as well.  And that would include Firefox.  Likely either I did not match the settings I had on my old Firefox installation, or did not add all of the add-ons.  I'll have to dig into that one.  But, in the meantime, I can log in using IE.

Gentlemen, my thanks to you both.

IE doesn't allow me access to all my photo folders, for some reason.  I have to log in with chrome when I want to load my pics.

Glad we could help.

Frank,

THANK you, for taking the time to ask the question and letting us know that may be a conflict in systems somewhere.  Very excellent trouble shooting guys!!!!  Also I love the pic!!!
