can anyone shed a little lite on this knife. ive looked for info and cant find any

It would certainly be easier with a picture.  The best resource I know of is the company documents which are online here.  I know that a 6150 was made as a part of the rawhide series in stamina wood and mostly 440 Stainless in the 80's.  I did find this is in the 1982 catalog

Excellent!  You may be able to date it a little better by checking out the tang stamp and the catalogs
