"Rigid" is a United cutlery owned brand.
Could you provide some clear pictures of the tang stamps?
Research states: RG-79 is:
"3 BLADE PRO HUNTER, SKINNING BLADE, SAW BLADE, & GUT HOOK, BROWN LAMINATED HARDWOOD HANDLES WITH BLACK AND RED MICARTA SPACERS, NICKEL SILVER BOLSTERS, BLACK NYLON SHEATH, 5 1/8" CLOSED."
If that information is correct please provide the pics mentioned above and we can look into it some more.
Kudret, sorry I can't give you the same $ 799 pricetag as i did on your last knife question- Although I can't find another example of an RG-79 with a selling price, similar Rigid knives are selling in the $55 to $100 range- I would guestimate yours( if you have the sheath) dwelling in the $60-80 range-A lot of the value has been lessened by the acquisition of the name by a lesser quality manufacturer of late-Lot of confusion among collectors- Rigid was originally based out of California by some ex- Buck knife employees- Most of their knives mimicked Buck patterns-Brand really did not catch on( although a well built knife, a little too beefy for most users) Rigid was started in the 70's~~Lot of misconceptions about their history
Thank you for your reply and all the info John McCain! :)
