Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

I know some of you are Sharpfans and/or watch the TV show Knives Live or have contemplated going to Smoky Mountain Knife Works.  I went there about a week ago and posted some pic on Facebook.  (It's the easiest way for me to do.  If you're interested the pictures are at My Facebook page If you can view them, send me a friend via Facebook and I'll add you.

Below are a few of the knives I picked up.  There were several more.

Tobias,

Some great knives.  Tell us about the trip.  The last time I was there it was a 4 hour visit

I sure do appreciate the pictures and all of the details of the trip. Sounds and looks like you had a good time too!

just ordered 2 of the marbles my self.glad you had a good trip.

i also ordered 2 large trapper marbles, got waiting on ups is the hard part.your pics are better the the ones smkw gives when ordering.

That was my first grand-daddy barlow and the first of the scrimshaw series in the Marbles line.  I've decided that not only is the Marble's series quite nice, especially at that price but I really like the big single blade barlow.  I've already order the Marbles Congress (Mountain Lion) and RR "big daddy" barlow.  Looking for American made 5 inch single blade barlows.  It make for a nice large pattern slim line knife.

Nice place to visit but I think their prices are too high.  I can get just about any knife they have and sell them cheaper than SMKW.

Nice selection of knives there.  I am a fan of the TOPS knives too.

No doubt that if you shop around you can get a better price on many of the brands but I think overall their prices are comparable.  I know you're almost always better off by Victorinox knives via Amazon but the prices on many of the American made (Case, Queen, etc) are comparable.  I tend to base my loyalty on the place due to its customer service and turn-around time for mail-orders.  However, I only place mail orders when there is a shipping deal going on.  I'm also very partial to many of their house brands and while you can get some of those at a lower price, you can normally pay the extra buck or two and get them faster and easier from SMKW.

I love going there and they have MANY online specials going at any given time.  I am with you on the shipping, either buy multiples or get a shipping deal.  Dont pay to ship one knife at a time, too costly

I will be visiting SMKW at least once and probably twice this summer while on vacation in Pigeon Forge (that is if our reserved cabin didn't burn down).  I like to examine the knives before I buy.  Just browsing the place is very enjoyable to me.  I only order from them or KnifeCenter.com when they have a free shipping deal.  For instance, I recently ordered my first Kershaw from KnifeCenter when they had it for half price and free shipping.

Cool! I'd love to visit SMKW.

I had a great time a year ago.   SMKW trip March 2012

Tobias

This is a Marble's that I picked up my visit to SMKW last year.  I bought it because I thought it was kinda cool.  It seems to be a well made knife.  However I don't plan to do any hammering with it.  It will most likely just stay in my collection.  We are planning another trip to Pigeon Forge this summer (since they have not notified us otherwise, I assume our reserved cabin didn't burn down) and I will certainly visit SMKW at least once.
