SOG knives were started by Spencer Frazer in 1986 in Santa Monica, Ca.. Most of their Multi-Tools are made in the USA and their higher priced folders and fixed blades are made in Seki Japan. While their lesser priced knives such as the Fusion line are made in Tiawan and China.
thanks for your reply it helps robert the s.o.g. i recently bought the flash 11 is made in u.s.a.
A lot of the tactical knife companies are doing this. Benchmade, Spyderco, Kershaw, Gerber, and Columbia River have a lot of their lower end knives made in Taiwan and China. Spyderco and Cold Steel have some of theirs made in Japan also.

WOW,

Great information guys. Thanks

Guy's a production knife made in Seki City, Japan and assembled in the good old USA is a Great little Knife for the price. Most of the knives made in Seki City or Solingen, Germany and a few other over sea contries can't be compared mast produced, cheap knives from any country. I think Stephen is scared he didn't get what he paid for but I think SOG knives are worth their price. I think the mess of one company making knives for another company is such a tangled web that this little discussion won't clear it up. Just the thoughts of an old cajun.

Stephen, here's a picture of my SOG knife. It's a meridian made in Seki City, Japan and assembled in the USA. It has a blade steel of AUS 8 and is a very fine production knife.

you are right robert when i saw and felt how lite the s.o.g. flash 11 was i thought it was a cheap made knife but after playing with it a while and talking you guys i felt better about it.it is light in my pocket great for e.d.c. and very sharp it will not wear my pocket out like a big and heavy and beefy one would.thanks guys great conversation.i feel better about it now.

Thats a nice knife, Robert. Stephen, I wouldn't be afraid of buying those brand of tacticals that I mentioned earlier regardless of the blade stamping. I have about 4 or 5 of each company that I mentioned earlier. I have found them to be good knives whether they are the lower or upper end of each brand.
