Hi All, I have had this pen knife for years and researched extensively and yet have not been able to  ID the manufacturer. Does anybody recognize the knife or the tang stamp? Any help appreciated as I know I've seen it before and just can't recall the name. Thanks

The ist pic the tang looks like IXL knife.................can't figure out the #2 ...........

Thanks for input, I kind of thought it might be European or from the UK as well. Think I will try the library for more research materials.

Germany made. Tang says Finedge Ostiso.
I can post more info tonight. Not easily found, I own a few myself. Typically excellent quality.

The brand is Ostiso.

Hi Bryan, Thanks so much for solving the mystery, I was close on the second word, I had it as Ostico, but Finedge is new to me. Yes, the build is quite nice so hence the reason I wanted to nail down the maker. I will do further research, do you have any photo's of one your Ostiso's.

Glad I could help. Was made by Finedge Cutlery Co. out of NY. See enclosed from Goins book.

Now I do know Ostiso stands for something but can not locate my notes at the moment. It’s effectively an acronym. Now that’s going to bug me all day...

I’ll need to search my photos of my knives and then post it for you. Again, typically very well made. Nice find!

That's definitely it, you can faintly see the Germany down below the scroll work, would have never been able to come up with the word Finedge with what's left there. That dates it back there, early 20's. Goin's book is the real deal for info. Thanks again so much !!
