James- This was made in Solingen, Germany  for Utica Knife & Razor Co. of Utica ,N.Y. circa 1924-1935.(not to be confused with Utica Cutlery Co.). In 1935, Utica Knife & Razor moved from Utica to Plattsburg, N.Y.and changed their name to Pal Cutlery Co. I mainly find this frog with the word Geroeso  underneath and shown on straight razors as a shield . I'm not sure, but it was likely the name of the Solingen manufacturer. This is the first knife I have seen the frog on, but Utica Knife & Razor Co. did sell a full line of pocket knives.I would love to see a photo or two of the whole knife. It might help in researching the knife further. Anyhow, here is a photo of the frog taken from the shield of a straight razor. If you Google the word Geroeso you will find further examples of the frog on straight razors.

James- a little further information- Your knife was made by Gebruder Roeger of Solingen, Germany. The frog was registered to them in around 1925. The GEROESO part is still a mystery, although you will find that name on razors bearing the Gebruder Roeger name. Gebruder Roeger was primarily known as a razor manufacturer, athough I have found a few pocket knives made by them with corkscrews, etc., but none exactly like yours.Utica Knife & Razor Co. was known as a import wholesaler, so  Gebruder Roeger made it,and Utica Knife & Razor Co.probably sold it in the USA as they dealt with them a lot. You will find razors with both names on them.

I believe the scales are some form of horn but not sure.
