Can someone tell me about this knife?  I am sure it is not a US made Buck even though it says Buck U.S.A. on the blade.  Was it made for or by Buck in a Chinese factory?  (It came from China.)  Or is it just a fake or counterfeit Buck?  It came in the box pictured.  If it was made for or by Buck in China would their warranty be good?

Two more questions.  Did I get hurt at $6?  And should I put it in my collection or stick it in the glove box in my van?

You know I should have asked and maybe this will help someone, where did you buy it? and where were they located?

Speaking of cars reminds me that I read that the car with the largest percentage of American made parts is the Toyota Camry.  I know my son helps build their engines in the big Toyota engine plant in Huntsville, AL.

Steve, if that's the case, parts made one place and assembled somewhere else is a different story. A lot of our USA cars are made this way. Boker has knives made in China but they call them Boker Plus,. that let's you know where it was made. The knife world has certainly got confusing.

It's a Chinese knock off .. as high as $16 for single lot pricing .. as low as $2.80 in bulk (30 pcs)

I wouldn't trust the listed specs

BUT

I've a # of knock-off's

that make some right nice EDC's

Keep the torx screws tight & it'll probably put up w/ some major abuse as a hard use vehicle EDC. A great $6 tool for the glove box !!!

That's it Dale.  Thanks for the info.  Into my van glove box it will go.  I already have a Colonial Barlow in my truck glove box.

No, not a genuine Buck. The tang stamp and blade markings are incorrect. But what the heck? You didn't buy it as a collectors piece did you? For what you paid it is still a great knife to use and abuse and get your money's worth.

I had a feeling it was a knock off.

Data, it actually seems to be a decent knife for $6.  It is sharp and locks up solid.  I was able to slice a piece of printer paper with it.  It will be a good one to just drop in my van glove box.

Nice. That was kind of my point. It is still a decent, usable knife that you don't have to worry about abusing. I have many very nice knives with great steel and snooty brand names but my EDC is a $20 Chinese made Kershaw with 8Cr13MoV steel. Why? Because it's a very good EDC knife and I'm not going to cry if it breaks or I lose it. I still think you got a great deal.
