Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

Hi everyone and welcome to our newest members,

Something we have not talked about lately is new aquisitions.  Tell us about your latest and greatest GEC.  Donnie bought me both the new 23's in the Beavertail (Worlds greatest husband by the way)  He got himself the newest 73 in Primitive bone.  THAT is a heck of a nice knife.

What have you gotten lately?

A few recent additions....some with interesting stories. The Elk toothpick and Smooth Yellow Bone #72 lockback are from Greg at TSA & he says he got these from Ken Daniels. He thought that the lockback might have been a pre-production model due to the bomb shield and the standard Northfield blade etching. It also has a mirror polished blade and the blade on the standard Yellow Rose #72 does not have the mirror polish finish. Also got this #54W.

Tom, I'm loving the Yellow Roses right now. Especially the one with the bomb shield, beautiful knives.

I have a soft spot in my heart for the #54, so thats an awesome one too.

And your Elk Tpick looks exactly like mine did when I first got it. Since it has really mellowed and is starting to yellow, great knives.

Tom those are some real jewels. Think you gave me the whittler bug. Herb

Johnny, thanks, I have had a thing for the YR's lately. The #72's were a lucky find. I was happy to add the Amber #54 to my collection too. I am going to try to make myself carry the toothpick. I'm blaming the toothpick purchase on you and your fishing article from way back. Been looking for one ever since.

Herb, thank you sir. I have had the whittler bug for some time too. I'd like GEC to bring back more in the #54 pattern. The #54W is under-appreciated in my opinion.

Has the mean green machine shown up Ron?

After I wrote that I remembered you have no mail running on the weekend.  Maybe tomorrow!!!

Here is a few I got this past week

Nice additions Robert! Are they #73's or #23's? I particularly like the flat bolster, end capped liner lock with match striker pulls! Thanks for posting these pictures.

They are all 73's thankx for the comment Tom

Handmade, thats a beauty.

GEC started making knives in 2006, so that is one of the oldest GECs out there, hard to believe, but true.

When they first started making knives their backspring was always the topic of discussion on the forums. Everybody was talking about how tough they were, people even started sending them back for repairs. So, I think GEC lightened the springs on their newer models, but the old 06's snap like a trap.
