              Spring Event   2014

 

Notice:           Open to all & no admission fees

Date:              Weekend of March 28th & 29th     

Location:      Trackrock Campground, Blairsville, GA

Activities:      Bladesmithing, Hawk forging, Leather Crafting, Forge Building, Flint Knapping, Anything Knife Related

Who:    Anyone interested in knives, knife making, hawks, leather work, collecting, trading, etc. Watch, meet and talk with several talented bladesmiths, master leather craftsmen, collectors, etc. Watch old discarded steel, scrap metal, wood and bone transformed into functional works of art.

General:   Craftsmen from several states, finished knives on display, collections on display, etc. Family oriented event, Behave! No unsafe or reckless behavior will be tolerated.

Additional:   “Iron in the Hat” event Saturday to help fund event. Please bring usable item for this event.  Chance to pick up valuable plunder - knifemaking materials, parts and pieces. Strictly voluntary, participation encouraged.  

Accommodations:    Full hook-up & primitive camping available (check web site), Trackrock is an excellent campground and very well maintained. Several motels near: Blairsville and Young Harris. Contact Trackrock Campground for further information at above website.

Saturday BBQ:   Details to be announced. Limited vending on site so bring your eats/drinks otherwise.

Knife Raffle:  Custom handcrafted stone knife. Knapped by Benji aka. Yellow Knife.

Proceeds go toward purchase of equipment.

We already have our reservations, have wanted to attend a Hammer in for so long and this one looks like an awful lot of fun!

Sorry I'm so late getting back on this.

There will be a hamburger plate available for Sat. lunch. Provided at cost by caterer/cook. I will need a head count before the end of this week....sort of an RSVP. If you RSVP make sure you get a meal ticket from one of the ladies. No-Tickets go to back of line and hope for left overs.

We also will be having a chili dinner Friday night and need a head count for that as well. Nominal charge.
