I just got a Weidmannsheil whittler knife and I was disappointed with the overall quality. The blades seem to be wobbly and dont have good snap. The knife is new. The main blade when closed leaves the point exposed which seems like it could hook you or something in your poket. I researched these and was expecting decent quality. Anyone else have any experience with these knifes? Thanks

I have 4.

I purchased them new from PKCS in the '80's. Sweet stag on 2 of them. Good steel .. one skinned 4 deer before requiring attn .. butchered 2 more before requiring sharpening again. Fit 'n finish are good .. workmanship is good.

I think they came out of the Olbertz factory in Germany ?? maybe. Need to check my facts on that one.

Will try to dig them up .. snap pics & post.

I believe ... the original co went out of business in 1991. PKCS still owns the name. The original co made ZERO damascus blades. No idea where/how/what for current production.
