Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

Did that EDC just take a ride around in your pocket or did it do something useful?  Let's hear about it, What knife were you carrying and what did you do with it?

I'm probably picking the wrong day to start this conversation. Today my EDC (a Spartan Lite) has so far only cut open a plastic bag and cut a bread roll in half for my sandwich at lunch.

Now last Friday was a different story.  My Victorinox Outrider cut down four  saplings (3 Sassafras trees and one Oak tree )   Then my Rough Rider 844 hacked off extraneous branches and stripped off the bark.  I was showing 12-14 year old boys how to select and make a proper hiking stick.  Now all they need to do is wait a year while the saplings dry out!

Nothing Earth shattering. Some manicuring jobs as usual, opened a BIG package of toilet paper, cut open some plastic bags of Cass's jewelry supplies. Oh yeah, you know those little teeny tiny itsy bitsy Ants? I did battle with one.....he lost.

Used my Schatt & Morgan #3L Mountain Man lockback to kill and gut a mad dog that tried to attack me today while out walking.

Damn Poodles..................

Then I came home and used it to fix lunch and open the mail.  Not a bad day all in all.

A mad Poodle huh? Almost as bad as teeny tiny itsy bitsy Ants. Ever heard an Ant snarl?

Dave,

For the record, the standard poodle was and remains an excellent retriever and is consider especially great at retrieving water fowl. Don't blame the dog for the bad haircut.

Craig, I've never heard an ant snarl but I've heard a spider bark.  Barking spiders smell really bed.  What about snarling ants?

The only thing I did with my knife today is...put it in my pocket. My butt is numb from being at my desk all day.

Thanks Tob.  Good info on the poodle breed.  Wish I'd have know that before the fact..............

Oh well.

This one was little and had a bow ribbon on his tail.  Awful looking thing!

Snarling ants sound like reason enough to pull your favorite edc and go to work.  Congrats Craig!!

Don't get close enough to smell Ants. Not sure how that would look.....me down on my knees following an Ant trying to sniff his bum.

Brad, maybe you could use your knife to remove splinters from you better end? LOL!

Dave, the little fella would probably thank you for putting it out of its misery/embarrassment.  Such a noble breed reduced to prancing around like a wuss!

Gosh Tob, ya know I think you're right.  Now that I think about it he did kinda look "relieved".

And before this goes too much farther, anyone who knows me knows how very much I love all animals and would never harm one in any way.  Love little critters of all kinds.   Even ants!

(Been a fun discussion though.......lol).

You and me both Dave! I'm an old softy when it comes to animals! LOL! Shoot, Sophie (The Princess) our mini Dachshund lives better than we do!

"...splinters from my better end."

When I am at my desk, I lounge in an Executive High back Leather chair, if there was wood on it I could have at least carved something on it.
