I'm surprised no one replied to this.
When it comes to knives made in the USA, my favorite brand is probably Camillus. The main reason is probably because I collect military knives and Camillus made a good number of them. They also made so many knifes for other companies The prices were reasonable and the quality better than average. Did they make some dogs? Absolutely.
When it comes to global or off-shore production, my favorite is Rough Rider. The reason is great quality at an affordable price and decent quality control. But more importantly is the variety of the way the company has brought back many lost/forgotten patterns. Again, they do have some dogs in the line up but for the most part great looking knives that make good, affordable EDCs (yet look good enough for the novice collector or person on a budget)
My other big favorite are Victorinox Swiss Army Knives. Outside of Rough Rider, my most collected brand is Victorinox. Again it is matter of great quality at an affordable price and great variety.
So those are my three favorites:
Camillus, Rough Rider, Victorinox.
If you asked for my top 10 it would probably go
1. Camillus
2. Rough Rider
3. Victorinox
4. Myerchin
5. Ontario
6. W. R. Case & Son
7. Mercury
8. Queen
9. Joseph Rodgers
10. Imperial/Schrade
Ask me again next week, and the list might change but the top five would probably still be somewhere in my top ten.
Wow, I am surprised to Tobias. Great subject: I think my 3 favorite (right now-subject to change daily)
l. KaBar Olean NY

My favorites are:
1. Case

3. Boker

Also any old or Antique American made pocket knives in the traditional patterns. I have bought several Case Stockman's recently, and found the quality pretty good. I do not know if that means I am not picky, or maybe I don't know what a high quality knife feels like.
Ricky, I don't think you're being picky. When to the big 3 categorie (Fit & Finish, Walk & Talk, Stay & Play) Case knows what it is doing. They had a dip in quality control a little while back but they seem to be back on track despite the tough economy. Love those knives

Thanks Tobias, I value your opinion greatly when it comes to knives.
Great Eastern Cutlery, hands down.
Top quality at a fair price and made in the USA.
Best brand out there, IMO.
A.G. Russell.
Best price/Quality ratio
My favourite designs and features, and they're not available anywhere else.
My favourite designers (A.G. Russell and Phil Gibbs)
Best garantee in the world.
And last but not least....my favourite people who run it. The A.G. Russell Crew are among the nicest people I've ever met.
GEC is my favourite brand and so far my only US made knives. I am thinking of trying a Queen or two and may start with a Railsplitter , after I have bought a GEC #92 Talon !
My favorite knife brand it one that cuts and holds an edge. If I include the phrase "and can easily be razor sharpened" then about 95% (I'm guessing) of the brands will be out of the running.
A knife just to look at? Whatever "tickles my interest". Doesn't matter what the brand is.
Not sure how I have been missing this discussion but, my current favorite brand is Case. I do prefer American made knives, but also like different brands for different reasons. I like Case to put in my display cases, and a Kershaw in my pocket. I have a nice Buck 119 that I like to carry if I am in the woods.I also like whatever catches my eye. My collection consists of many different brands, but also lacks quite a number of brands, I would like to add a GEC, Greg Dash, Tony Bose and a few pothers to my collection this year.
