White River Knife & Tool. A knife company to keep an eye on!!! UPDATED NEWS

One of the most exciting, energetic, innovative, family operated and diverse knife companies I have ever had the privilege to meet is on the rise!  White River Knife & Tool   has long been a favorite with both Donnie and I.  A wide variety of offerings in style, steels, coating and materials makes this a company that truly has something for everyone.

I have been bringing you news about this company since the first article in October of 2012.  The first White River knife I ever had my hands on was the stunning, newly designed “step up” filet knife.  Using SM-100 steel and making a filet knife meant to be the last one you ever needed to own piqued the interest of avid saltwater lady.  At the Blade Show last year this sensational maker asked me if I knew anyone that could do an unbiased review of their standard filet knife.  Our own Robert Burris was the first name that came to mind for me.  You can see his review here.

From there it was discovering thier Classic Series and then the line of Capers.  Late last year it was the ionbond coated back packer that made me say…I gotta have that one!

Recently I had a chance to speak with John about the newest release to hit the shelves.  A true collaboration with Justin Gingrich, the signature series has been an immediate hit.  The series consists of a lightweight neck knife, a smaller utility knife, and a larger field knife. The utility and field both feature a fairly tall saber grind.  All the knives in the series are a thick, CPM S35VN coated in black ionbond.  Each comes with a very heavy duty black leather and canvas sheath – available in either g10 or canvas Micarta handle scales.

The SHOT SHOW brought us the latest from this company, the DPx H*I*T Cutter.  Designed by adventurer Robert Young Pelton, the DPx (Dangerous Places Extreme) H*I*T Cutter uses the patented DPx Centric mechanism; an integrated pivoting handle and blade guard. This stellar fixed blade knife has an S35VN steel blade with multiple hex cutouts and a carabineer clip for attaching to gear. The H*I*T® Cutter measures 5 ½ inches (blade is 2 inches) and weighs just 2.88 oz.

Best of all, it’s made in the U.S.A. by White River Knife & Tool (Grand Rapids, Mich.).

A family owned and operated business, White River Knives.  If it is not on your radar....it should be!

You can put one in your hands at any of these dealers

PER JOHN AT WHITE RIVER KNIFE & TOOL...TODAYS ANNOUNCEMENT 2/22/14
I want you, Don, and all the good people of iknifecollector to get it straight from me – White River Knives is doing a collaboration with none other than Mr. Jerry Fisk.

We are so excited about this! Everyone should be able to get their hands on one at this coming BLADE show. This model is a true ‘user’. Yes it looks good, but it is one amazing field and hunting knife.
John
