Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

I received this Browning knife as a retirement gift when I retired this past November.  At this point I am planning to keep it in my collection and not use it.  I have a Buck Omni Hunter that I already use to field dress my deer.  I am just curious about who would leave it in its packaging and who would remove it.

leave it

Won't be me that opens it!

I would be the first to open it.and check it out..IF I COULD FIGURE OUT HOW TO GET IT OUT OF THE PLASTIC !!!!!!!! ....lol

There will come a day that the clam-pack will deteoriate, till then leave it unopened.

To me, knives are to be touched and played with, opening and closing the blades.....or in your case, see how good that fixed blade feels in the hand. I couldn't stand seeing it all the time behind that plastic listening to it's muffled cries to be let out and played with.

But, that's just me.

I hate clam packs.

That day will come in a couple hundred years minimum. I couldn't wait that long. Open it!

Well, I am still debating with myself whether to leave it in the packaging or remove it.  And the vote so far is 3-3.  Does anyone else have any reasons to do one or the other?  It would be nice to be able to handle it.  But I still don't plan on using it.

Here's my answer

I wouldn't remove that one from the packaging either.

I put mine in a drawer and forget about it. I feel like maybe I am supporting history, and perhaps the day will come when my kids or generation to come after them will open it. Maybe they will say, that's the way they used to ship knives?

Hopefully in the future there will be one or two people left that care about history.
