Is there any way to tell when my Case Mini Blackorn was made.  The only markings on it is this tang stamp and "Case" on the handle.

I'm only guessing but Case used the Long Tail 'C' in the name with the Lightening Bolt 'S' beginning in 1993- 99 but there were dots with it and usually the 'S' in USA was also a Lightening Bolt 'S'.

Case also used the Long Tail 'C' again in 2010 but they also use dots and x's with it and remove one every year.

Hmmm, I wonder if Sue would know for sure?

my guess is , it is a current knife since the usa has no ligntening s; due to the size there is no room for any dot system.

Looks like the 2010-present tang stamp

I just picked up one, from Lowes, recently. Has the same markings.

I got mine at Lowes too.  They are a great little knife for every day carrying.  It is small and light but handles all of my normal cutting chores just fine.  Another thing I like about it is that it is not expensive because I have a tendency to lose knives.  In fact, this is my second Mini Blackhorn.  I lost the first.  Then I lost the second one too!  I went back to Lowes to buy another one but they didn't have any more.  So I bought a Case Caliber to replace it.  Then an amazing thing happened.  Two weeks later I was walking back to my truck after deer hunting.  I spotted a knife laying in the grass.  It was my Blackhorn.  Even though that area had been bush hogged after I lost the knife, it wasn't damaged.  It is now safely (well, maybe not to safe) back in my pocket.  But I keep the Caliber handy as a backup, just in case.  The Caliber is a very similar knife but the Blackhorn just feels better to me.
